I recently shot some footage of my daughter during one of her swimming lessons. After putting together the standard “home movie” for family consumption [ vimeo.com/1108825 ], I decided to challenge myself with a little experiment: Could I transform fun ordinary footage into something dark and moody? I selected some music, did some experimental editing, and this is what I came up with.

The footage was shot using a Canon HV30 with no additional lenses or adapters. It was edited with a combination of Adobe After Effects and Premiere CS3. I used Magic Bullet for color correction.
